THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Ronald R. Misco
Ronald "Moby" Raymond Misco, of Lena, passed away Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017 in Three Lakes.
Born in Green Bay, to George and Francis (Barszcz) Misco, he graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1960 where he enjoyed playing football and pole vaulting. He served in the United States Air Force as a mechanic and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was proud to share his nickname, "the Wedge", given to him by his teammates who said he could get through any defense and was voted "best built" by his classmates. His biggest accomplishment was winning the heart of his wife Sandy (Straubel) Misco. They were married Aug. 30, 1968 and would have celebrated 49 years of marriage this Wednesday.
Proud of his three boys and their children, he enjoyed spending time in Three Lakes with Matt, fishing and yard work with Aaron, watching Chad coach and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He also enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, historical TV shows, loved to play cards and had a lot of knowledge. His hugs and stories will be remembered by those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy; three sons, Matthew, Aaron and Chad (Lisa); three grandchildren; three sisters, Lillian Kawczynski, Marlene Johnson and Geraldine Misco; a brother, Thomas (Mary) Misco; nieces; nephews; extended family and many good friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, James and Susan (Lenzer) Straubel and four brothers-in-law, Greg Straubel, Jae Straubel, Ray Kawczynski and Ken Johnson.
A private family Memorial Service was held on Sunday, Aug. 27. In his honor, the family asks others to spend quality time with their family, playing cards, a game of catch or just doing something together because life is precious. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Lena assisted the family.
