Wausaukee Board Awards MJB Bid
Issue Date: September 6, 2017
Wausaukee-The Wausaukee Village Board is moving forward with its exploratory test well drilling project. Members accepted a $17,465 bid from Kleiman Pump & Well Drilling of Iron Mountain, Mich. for drilling a test well and performing a 24-hour pump test at a special meeting held on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
The board also accepted an estimate from MJB Industries, Inc. of Marinette to repair the culvert in the alleyway behind the Family Dollar on Main Street with a 16-inch sleeve. The village also received a bid from Richlen Excavating of Crivitz, which would have repaired the culvert with a 15-inch sleeve.
The board cited prior good experiences with MJB as part of its reasoning in awarding the bid.
"I know MJB is more, but I think they come with experience working in the village," board member Randy Schmidt said. "They know our system and [MJB Industries, Inc. vice president] Paul [Peterson] will do the extra mile for us."
