Don D. Hawkins
Don Duane Hawkins, 88, of Marinette, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017 at his home.
Born March 21, 1929 in Hollowayville, Ill. to Seth and Martha Hawkins, he married his wife, Joyce on Oct. 3, 1953 and was just shy of 64 years of marriage. He served in the United States Army for two years and was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion.
He loved to work with his hands which showed in his careers in ironwork, as a carpenter and finishing his employment at Badger Paper Mills. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and the Green Bay Packers. Proud of his family, his happiest times were spent with them.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; six children, Sandy (Larry) Stokes, Sherry (Rich) Tibbits, Donna (Randy) Kasten, Deanna Nast, Chuck (Kathy) Hawkins and Cindy (Kevin) Johnson; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pat and many nieces; nephews and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Karma and two brothers, Seth, Jr. and Dean.
Friends called at Harmony United Methodist Church on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until time of the funeral services at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. Kevin Dembinski officiating. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette assisted the family with arrangements.
