Crivitz Church Plans Trip to Shrine Oct. 11
Issue Date: September 27, 2017
Crivitz-St. Mary Church in Crivitz will host a bus trip to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The approved Marian Apparition site is located 67 miles from Crivitz.
The Shrine marks the spot where Our Lady appeared to Adele Brice in 1859. In 1871, the Peshtigo Fire destroyed everything surrounding the five acres of land which was consecrated to Our Lady. The Shrine, convent and school and all of the people, who had gathered there seeking the protection of Our Lady, were unharmed.
The parish, with the help of their Council of Catholic Women, planned the trip, which is free for the first 50 people to register. Lunch is not included so bring a bag lunch or purchase food from the Shrine cafeteria. The trip is open to anyone, children in the R.E. program, parents, parishioners and non-parishioners. There is no school at Crivitz that date and there will be no Religious Education classes either. A collection will be taken at the end of the day to help pay it for future trips.
The group will leave from St. Mary Parish parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and return at 4 p.m. The day will include Mass, rosary, lunch, a talk about the Shrine and opportunities to explore the grounds and gift shop. RSVP by calling or texting 715-927-0192.
