John A. Zimmer, 68, of Pound, passed away Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 at home.
Born Aug. 30, 1949 in Appleton, to the late Edward and Anita (Hoppe) Zimmer, he served in the United States Army and did two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He married Kathy McGavock on Sept. 15, 1987 in Crandon.
An avid Packer fan, he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, ice fishing and riding his Harley Davidson.
Surviving are his wife Kathy; two daughters, Dawn (Scott) Franzke and Crystal (Scott) Johnson; a son, Jesse Zimmer; seven grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jason Zimmer and a brother, James Zimmer.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home in Coleman on Sunday, Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. until time of the Memorial Service at noon, with Deacon Peter Gard officiating. Military honors will be given by the Coleman American Legion at the funeral home.
