Robert K. "Bob" Gieseler, 72, of Coleman, passed away Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 at his home.
Born March 7, 1945 in Milwaukee, to Bob and Arline Gieseler, he married Judy Miller on May 28, 1965 in Oconto Falls. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1967. After service, he began working at Patz Corp. for 43 years, retiring in 2010.
An active member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Lena, he served as council president and taught Sunday school. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and making wooden music boxes for family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 51-1/2 years, Judy; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Jr. (Bridget) Gieseler; two grandchildren; his father, Robert; a sister and brother-in-law, Arlene "Sue" (Clay) VanHooser and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ken and his mother, Arline.
Friends called at Evangelical Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Lena on Tuesday, Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral services at 11 a.m., with Rev. Ryan Landwehr officiating. Veteran Honors followed at the church with burial in the Church cemetery. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Lena assisted the family with arrangements.
