Gwendolyn A. Watts, 77, of Marinette, formerly of Lewistown, Pa., passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017 at Rennes Health Care Center-West.
Born April 18, 1940, to the late Cuthbert and Louise (Boysel) Hayes in Plattsburg, Oh., she graduated from Mesa High School in 1959. She married Charles Watts on Nov. 26, 1959 in Tempe, Az. and he preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2012.
He served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years and together they lived overseas in several communities where they made good friends and saw many parts of the country with their military assignments. After he retired, they returned to Pennsylvania to live near family.
She worked as the bookkeeper at Lewistown Country Club for over 25 years. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, reading, bowling and traveling, especially to see their children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Wesley (Christine) Watts III of Lewistown, Pa. and Bryan (Lisa) Watts of Marinette; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Steven (Terri) Hayes of Florida; three sisters, Joyce (Robert) Hawkins, Barbara (Porfirio) Martin and Brenda (Charles) Merring all of Arizona and two sisters-in-law, both from Pennsylvania.
Private family services were held. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette assisted the family.
