Michael J. Callaway, 47, of Marinette, passed away Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017 at home from natural causes.
Born Nov. 16, 1969 in Memphis, Tn., to Joseph and Gerry (Shipley) Callaway, he graduated from Craigmont High School in 1988 and attended college for two years.
He served in the United States Navy for 27 years in several conflicts until retiring as an Electronics Technician Master Chief (ETCM). He married Tonya "Trip" Triplett on April 4, 2004 in Las Vegas. They met while stationed together in the Navy in 1995. For the last two years, he worked for the Department of Defense as a Combat Systems Test Director for the Freedom Class LCS Program.
He enjoyed woodworking, camping, trivia, rebuilding his Jeep and was always busy.
He is survived by his wife Trip; a son, Joseph; his mother, Gerry; two brothers, Joe Callaway and Rusty McGee and three sisters, Diane Killough, Jody Weisen and and Paula Wilson.
His father, Joseph preceded him in death.
Military Honors and graveside services will be held at West Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery in Memphis, Tn. on Friday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family locally.
