Evelyn M. (Sandberg) Denman, 103, of Sedona, Az., passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 with her daughter, Carolyn Kavana and granddaughter, Brenda Buesing at her side.
Born Nov. 5, 1913 in Marinette, to the late Gust and Ida (Moberg) Sandberg, as a special events planner, she traveled frequently and lived in Chicago, Ill. She retired in her 60s to spend time with her daughters and grandchildren.
She had a free spirit, loved all, lived life to the fullest, had a sense of humor, a bright smile, cared for friends and family, was outgoing and touched many lives. She loved flowers, animals and birds, with hummingbirds being her favorite and was a Packer fan for over 100 years!
She enjoyed fall trips to her hometown to see relatives and talk past stories of her childhood in Marinette. She appreciated those that spent time with her and attended her 100-year birthday in Fish Creek.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Kavana; two granddaughters; three grandsons; great-grandchildren and others, Connie (Gary) Betzinger, Robert Westoff, Joyce (Ward) Uecke, Carol (Ronald) Woods, Sally (Gary) Meumier, Bonnie (Richard) Strohm, Lilly (Ray) Meyers and many others.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Elmer, Carl, Arnold, Harold and Walter; a sister, Caroline Sennet and a daughter, Judith Charvet.
A Memorial will be held with Carolyn Kavana and Brenda Buesing. Family will receive friends and family in the Sanctuary Chapel at United Methodist Church, 813 Owena St., Marinette on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 12:30 p.m. until time of the service at 1 p.m., with Pastor Kevin Dembinski officiating. A Celebration of Life gathering will follow at the Victorian Inn in Marinette. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette.
