Isabelle l. Edminster
Isabelle l. Edminster, 93, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2017 at Bay Area Medical Center.
Born Sept. 5, 1924 in Polar, to the late Arthur and Ona (Parrot) Schmuhl, after graduation she attended Normal Teacher College and taught school. On Nov. 28, 1947, she married Everett Edminster in Antigo and he preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 2014.
After the birth of their first child, she stayed home to raise her family and support her husband in his endeavors. They moved to Wisconsin and she helped her husband cook, clean and care for the church campground in Westfield.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting mittens to give away, photography and painting, but mostly writing for children's magazines. She stretched the garden and budget to provide for her family.
A member of the Menominee Seventh-day Adventist Church, she loved her family and the Lord with all her heart and passed away with her church family singing to her "In the Sweet By and By".
Survivors include four daughters, Nancy (Bil) Willis of Corbett, Or., Peggy (Clare) Herbison of Prentice, Jean Granum of Menominee and Kate Edminster of Lyons, Or.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two sisters, Almira Pavek and Adeline Parfitt.
Along with her parents, her husband, Everett preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held at Anderson Kell Funeral Home in Menominee on Thursday, Oct. 19 after 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Friday, Oct. 20 at 3 p.m. in Birch Creek Cemetery, with Pastor Tom Hubbard officiating. On Saturday Nov. 4, a Memorial Service will be held at Anderson Kell Funeral Home at 3:30 p.m., with Pastor Hubbard officiating.
