Julius George Ondik
Julius George Ondik, 77, of Gillett, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017 at home.
Born Nov. 22, 1939 in East Chicago, Ind., to the late Joseph, Sr. and Rose (Cservenyak) Ondik, he attended a one room school house on Claywood Road until 8th grade and graduated from Gillett High School in 1957. For many years, he played basketball for 4-H. Since 1947, he farmed with his family in the same place.
He married Elizabeth DeBauch, in 1966. He enjoyed trap shooting, playing pool, bowling, but mostly pulling his John Deere tractors, having pulled for 50 years.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth; four children, Kyle (Chris) Ondik of Gillett, Kim (Matt Dey) Ondik and Chad Ondik, both of Spruce and Kristy (Jody Tousey) Ondik of Coleman; four grandchildren; three siblings, Rose Kriescher of Black Creek, Joseph Ondik of Suamico and Bob (Judy) Ondik of Gillett and many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Benson.
Visitation will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at noon with Fr. David Barrett officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery next to his parents.
