Darlene K. Bruette
Darlene K. (Behling) Bruette, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017 at UW-Hospital in Madison.
She was born on Sept. 13, 1950, to Harold and Evelyn (Boulac) Behling. Darlene married her high school sweetheart, John M. Bruette, on Aug. 14, 1971. Their long awaited son, Michael John, arrived in July, 1984.
Darlene worked for 29 years in various positions at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection and was an election official for the Village of Oregon.
She loved to read, enjoyed traveling, and made the casual visit to the casino. She was a lifelong volunteer, and was involved in Sunday school teaching, grade school projects, blood drive coordinating and food pantry volunteering and coordinating.
Darlene is survived by her husband, John; son, Michael (Brittany Wagner); grandchildren, Devan Turk and Dawson Bruette; brothers, Stephen (Judy) and Larry (Bonnie) Behling; sister, Wanda Behling; brother-in-law, Steven Mouty; sister-in-law Bonita Behling and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald, Roger and Alan Behling; sister, Yvonne (Behling) Steier and brother-in-law, William Steier.
A Celebration of Darlene's Life will be held at Gunderson Oregon Funeral and Cremation Care, 1150 Park St., Oregon at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017. Visitation will continue following the service until 7 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Heart Association, Salvation Army or the charity of the donor's choice.
