Born in Tomah, to Frank and Alpha (Diemer) Keeshan, her father passed away shortly after her birth and an aunt Ruth helped raise her and her two brothers.
The family relocated to Oshkosh in 1922, where she made many friends that continued into adulthood. She graduated from Oshkosh Teachers College where she was captain of the women's basketball team and later taught at Brillion Middle School. In 1948, she married Don Zwickey and they moved to Milwaukee where they raised their family.
An active member of Kingsley and Wauwatosa Methodist Churches as a teacher, choir member and volunteer, she also belonged to the League of Women Voters and the Great Decisions Series at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She enjoyed traveling with family, gardening, reading and visiting neighbors.
She is survived by two sons, Dave (Sue) and Dan; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a niece, Carolyn (Joe) and other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Gene and an aunt, Ruth.
Visitation and a Memorial Service was held at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield on Monday, Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette assisted the family with arrangements.
