Silver Cliff Fire, Rescue Auxiliary Make Donations

The Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue Auxiliary met on Monday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. in the Town Hall. The 2017-2018 budget was approved. Checks of $11,250 each were presented to representatives of the Silver Cliff Fire Department and the Silver Cliff Rescue Squad.
Al Walesh from the Fire Department said the donation will be used for a turn out gear washing machine, specific for the attire worn by fire fighters. Anna Wender from the Rescue Squad said the donation will be used for a new monitor, which will include carbon monoxide and a new Rescue Squad. There will be an EMR training class for First Responders beginning in April.
A plaque honoring the 2017 Parade Grand Marshals was presented to Sherry and Bill Woger.
Members discussed the upcoming Hunter's Bake Sale to be held Friday, Nov. 17 starting at 9 a.m. at Jungle Jim's. Plans for the upcoming Children's Christmas Party on Dec. 2 were discussed. The meeting was followed by a soup, casserole and dessert luncheon hosted by Sue Vandenberg.
The next meeting will be followed by a Christmas luncheon at 11 a.m. at Waubee Lodge. Members may bring a Christmas ornament or decoration to exchange. Several members stayed after the meeting to sew scarves, which will be given to children at the children's Christmas party. All ladies, full and part time residents of the Silver Cliff area are invited to attend the meetings and encouraged to join the Auxiliary.
