Russel J. Lesperance, 93, of Milwaukee, passed away Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, with family by his side.
Born May 22, 1924, to the late Zelia and Erbin Lesperance of Coleman, he graduated from Coleman High School and served in the United States Air Force in World War II. He then attended the University of Notre Dame for undergraduate studies majoring in Economics and Law School, graduating in 1951.
He worked in Real Estate and started his own business, Lesperance Builders. Many people in Milwaukee live in a house built by him. A pioneer in Commercial real estate in the State of Wisconsin, he had a third office in Appleton and his business expanded to four states across the Midwest and to the Virgin Islands.
He helped many less fortunate people over the years and provided legal advice pro bono.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia; three children, Karen (Robert) Lesperance-Fox, Russ A. (Jessica) Lesperance and Mark (Bonnie) Lesperance; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Randolph, Edgar, Gordon and Richard and two sisters, Esther (Graff) and Phyllis (Olsen).
Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 17 at St. Peter Parish, 2224 30th Avenue, Kenosha from 9 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., followed by burial in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, masses would be appreciated.
