Daniel W. Cloutier, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Friday, Oct. 27.
Born March 3, 1949, to Wilfred and Marion (Zander) Cloutier in Menominee, Mi., he grew up on the family farm with four sisters and graduated from Marinette High School in 1968. He worked at Scott Paper Mill in Marinette and married the former Marlea Melka and they had four sons.
He had many adventures, living in Marinette, Green Bay and ending in Sturgeon Bay. He worked as a skilled tradesman in carpentry, plumbing, masonry and painting, where he was known as D.W.
The family raised Rat Terriers and he was entertained by them, always having one by his side. He enjoyed gardening, nature and taught his children many of his skills.
He is survived by four sons, Brett Cloutier, Eric (Heather) Cloutier, Matthew (Christian) Cloutier and Phillip (Jennifer Branske) Cloutier; five grandchildren; four sisters, Sandra (Lynn) Barber, Patricia Cloutier, Linda (Bill) Merchant and Laurie (Wayne) Marotz; many nieces; nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Porterfield Lutheran Church on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at 5 p.m. A gathering to share memories will follow at Evergreen Ballroom and a meal prepared by family will be served.
