Ronald J. Lindgren, 84, of Janesville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 at Huntington Place.
Born July 14, 1933 in Yankton, S.D., to Donald and Wilma (Jilg) Lindgren, he lived in Marinette for 35 years before moving to Janesville in 2014. He married his high school sweetheart, Marsha A. Johnson in Yankton, S.D. on Oct. 18, 1955 and recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary.
He served in the United States Army and was Store Manager of JC Penney for 40 years, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed golfing, being outdoors, woodworking and time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha A. Lindgren; four children, Roni Ann Hardee of High Point, N.C., Tami Lee (Mike) Fischer of Maple Grove, Mn., Chuck (Julie) Lindgren of Janesville and John (Shari) Lindgren of Coto de Caza, Ca.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Sharon Boyd and her two daughters, Laurie and Lisa and a sister-in-law, Myrna Fitzgerald of Janesville and her two daughters, Beth (Dan) Driver and Becky (Rob) Rivest.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, David Fitzgerald of Janesville.
A visitation was held at Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory in Janseville on Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. A funeral service was held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Paul Ugo Arinze officiated with interment in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
