Joan M. (Hetcher) Johnson, 88, of McAllister, passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017 at Bay Area Medical Center.
Born Feb. 6, 1929 in Menominee, Mi., to Victor and Ethel (Wallin) Hetcher, she spent her early life there and graduated from Menominee High School in 1947. She worked at Pfankuch Furniture Store in Menominee as a bookkeeper for over 25 years until retiring in 1973. She married Walton K. Johnson on June 11, 1955.
A longtime member of Community Lutheran Church in McAllister, she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, served as financial secretary and was secretary of the Ladies Aid. She will be remembered for her sense of humor by her friends.
Surviving are her husband, Walton; a daughter, Vicki (Mark) Hellmann of Appleton and two grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Hetcher and a sister, Elinor Hopper.
Friends may call at Community Lutheran Church in McAllister on Saturday, Nov. 25 from 9 a.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Rev. Paul Hueter will officiate with burial in the Church Cemetery. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family with arrangements.
