Evelyn B. (Vanden Busch) Holl, 93, of Green Bay, passed away Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017 surrounded by family.
Born Oct. 31, 1924 in Green Bay, to the late Charles and Lucille (Thyrion) Vanden Busch, she married Gerald Holl on Sept. 2, 1944 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on April 25, 2005.
A talented seamstress, she made bridal and bridesmaid dresses for family weddings, liked crocheting hats for new-borns at local hospitals, enjoyed fishing, cooking, painting, writing poetry, crossword puzzles, westerns and bowling. Family was important to her and she loved time at the cottage with her family.
She is survived by seven children, Virginia (Robert) Wendlendt, De Pere, Michael (Susan) Holl, Hobart, Mary (Dave) Patterson, Luxemburg, Terry "Starr" (Richard) Johnson, Bellevue, Susan (Bruce) Tilkens, Crivitz, David (Laurie) Holl, Green Bay and John (Cathy) Holl, New Franken; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Reinolda "Nellie" Holl and many other family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gerald, she was preceded in death by a special daughter, Kathleen Holl; a special son, Peter Holl; a special grandson, Jeffrey Holl and other extended family.
Visitation was held at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria St. on Monday, Nov. 20 from 9:30 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Rev. William Hoffman officiated with burial in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Proko Wall Funeral Home of Green Bay assisted the family with arrangements.
