Lawrence "Jim" Eichhorn, 66, of Wallace, Mi., passed away at his camp of natural causes on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017.
Born May 29, 1951 in Menominee, Mi., to the late Lawrence and Ethel (Laurin) Eichhorn, he worked at Marinette Marine for 35 years as a ship fitter.
He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, spending time at camp, going on Canada fishing trips, being in the garden at home and time with his family and grandchildren. On July 4, 2008, he married Nancy Noel at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Green Bay. They met in 2000 and within a month they knew they would be together forever. His heart melted when he heard his first grandson Alex say, "I love you grandpa".
He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Wallace and her children, Tech Sgt. David (Bhea) Wierzchowski of Las Vegas, Nv., Captain Ashley (Scott) Lunty of Bowling Green, Ky. and Airman 1st Class, Thomas (Kristin) Wierzchowski of Barks Dale, La.; a sister, Peggy (Bruce) Eichhorn of Powers, Mi.; two brothers, Thomas (Jean) and Kevin (Tammy), both of Wallace; a sister-in-law, Gloria Eichhorn of Wallace; a brother-in-law, Ed Ducat of Daggett, Mi.; many nieces and nephews; five grandchildren and best friends, Dennis DeTemple, Roger Krzewina and Denis Berger.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Allen; two sisters, Carolyn and Elaine and his in-laws, John and Doris Noel.
Visitation will be held at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home in Stephenson on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. until time of Parish Prayers at noon with Deacon Tom Rivard officiating. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 3 at North Shore Church in Menominee at 2 p.m. Pastor Duncan Ross will officiate with burial in Nadeau Township Cemetery.
