Peshtigo Town Board Okays $925,412 Budget
The Peshtigo Town Board set its annual Christmas party for Tuesday, Dec. 29 at the Town Hall. All town residents are invited to attend. The Board at its meeting on Nov. 21 authorized to spend $150 for the party.
The budget for 2018 was approved for $925,412.06.
The Town Board meeting followed with 19 residents present. Chuck Boyle and Tim Kollross made a motion to cut the town levy from $251,773 to $210,000, but the motion failed by two yes to 17 no votes.
Clarence Coble and Luanne Seils then motioned to set the town tax levy for 2017 at $251,773 and the motion carried with 17 yes votes to two no votes.
The meeting started with approval of the minutes of the Oct. 17 and Oct. 19 meetings along with the treasurer's report approved. Payment vouchers were approved for $34,531.40 with local pay vouchers of $53,504.73 for total payments of $88,036.13.
The new County Plat Books are available at the Marinette County Courthouse.
Approved was a $50 deposit charge for use of the Town Hall for parties or events and the deposit will be refunded if the room is left in good condition.
The Recycling Center calendar was approved for 2018 and will remain the same, with every Wednesday open for recycling center operations.
A meeting for the Broad Band Grant will be set up with interested parties in the near future. The 2018 contract with Command Central of $3240 was approved. The company services voting equipment for the Town.
