Dorothy M. Butler
Dorothy Mae Butler, 90, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Friday, Dec. 3, 2017 at Aurora Bay Care in Green Bay.
Born Feb. 2, 1927, to the late Alfred and Frances (Kiefer) Huss in Menominee, she graduated from Menominee High School in 1944. She married James Butler on May 28, 1948 at Epiphany Catholic Church in Menominee and he preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1987. She worked at Gaspers Appliance, Harman Knit Wear, Sonny's IGA and then CITGO Gas Station for almost 30 years until retiring in 2006.
She was a member of Holy Spirit Church and an honorary member of the Emergency Rescue Squad Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling with friends on the casino bus trips and supporting the Green Bay Packers.
She is survived by a son, Craig (Joyce) Butler of Menominee; a daughter, Gail (Krist) Atanasoff of Iron River; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James and a sister, Bernice Heider.
Visitation will be held at Cadieu Thielen Funeral Home in Menominee on Friday, Dec. 8 from 4 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Steve Gretzinger presiding. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
