Carleton H. Warnecke
Carleton H. Warnecke, 95, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017 at Rennes Health Care Center-West, where he was a resident.
Born July 30, 1922 on the family farm in County Line, to the late Charles and Anna (Votova) Warnecke, he was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church.
A lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church, he married the former Alice Cota there on May 22, 1965. His farm was owned for three generations and is currently owned by his nephew. He enjoyed fly fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; three nephews, Gordon (Dianne) Rathke of Germantown and sons, Brian and Kevin, Charles Rathke, who presently lives on the family farm and Kenneth Nieman of Brookfield; three nieces, Judy Buck of Menomonee Falls and children, Scott and Michael, Mary Ann (Richard) Ulvenes of Lino Lakes, Mn. and children, Amy, David, Andrew and Matthew and Ruth Ann (Charles) Krueger of Hartford and children, Jennifer and Joseph and his niece Karen's husband, Richard Holstein of Faithhorn, Mi. and children, Kelly and Bradley.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin; two sisters, Agnes Nieman and Lucille Nedley; a niece, Karen Holstein and a nephew, Gordon Buck.
Visitation was held Saturday, Dec. 2 at Zion Lutheran Church in Peshtigo from 2 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m., with Pastor Luke Myslik officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
