Dylan Garrigan Named Lena J.H. Wrestling Coach

Lena"Numerous readings of policies were read at the Lena board of Education meeting on Monday, Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Room.
Board members present were Lori Dufek, Charles Imig, Kristan Huberty and Ed Huberty. David McNurlen was absent. Also present were Administrators Ben Pytleski and James Torzala.
After Pledge of Allegiance was open forum and consent items of minutes, agenda, vouchers and new adn amended Board policies.
A motion was made by Charles Imig, seconded by Ed Huberty to approve minutes, agenda, vouchers for payment and the new and amended Board Policies.
The Junior High Wrestling coach Contract for Dylan Garrigan was approved, and Student Rep for the Board, Branik Bethke took the office.
Also approved was the bleacher handrail quote and School Messaging Software
Motion by Charles Imig, second by Ed Huberty to approve the School Messaging Software.
High/Middle School Principal Torzala reported honor letters went out the week before Thanksgiving break. There were 14 high school students and seven middle school students on highest honors, we had 22 high school and 33 middle school students on high honors, and 23 high school and 34 middle school students on honors. This is 61% for the high school and 72% for the middle school.
The girls basketball holiday tournament after Thanksgiving went well and juniors completed a practice ACT test on Friday. This allows the school to see what areas of the test students are struggling on and have time to address those areas.
Schedule for Christmas Concerts are Elementary Dec. 15 at 1 pm. Senior Citizen Concert Dec. 18 at 10 am with a reception after by the foods classes.
High School/Middle School Concert is Dec. 18 at 7 pm.
Michelle Meisner received the Lions Club award at the Lions Christmas dinner on Dec. 5.
On Dec. 2 the girls' volleyball team was at the Ronald McDonald House in Wauwatosa to serve breakfast.
Jeff Hermersmann put a TV up above the trophy case that will have the announcements when parents are present they can see what is going on. The students will have more access to the announcements.
Lena hosted a 4-team middle school boy's basketball tournament.
Administrator/Elementary Principal Pytleski received a thank you for the Veteran's Day program and luncheon.
Ashley Stankevitz had a soup supper for families of her Kindergarten students, with 22 of the 25 families present.
Student Representative Bethke said as his last school year so many things happen ithat it's hard to keep up. He told about girls and boys basketball teams and that the wrestling team competed in a 20 team tournament. Two team members took 4th, and a few others placed. The National Honor Society is continuing their annual adopt a family program, and prepare for the toss for charity.
