Nancy Lee Sotka, 73, passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, surrounded by family.
Born June 9, 1944, she lived her earlier years in Chicago, Ill., where she met the love of her life Bill (William) Sotka. They married March 5, 1963 in Chicago where they began their family and made many good friends.
After several years, they moved to Porterfield, continued their family and made many close friendships. They lived their lives in the same big white house many have known where they created many memories.
A hard worker and dedicated woman, family and tradition was important to her. Every family holiday or celebration was started or finished in her home with her preparing meals for all. She was a painter by trade, but her enjoyment was catering special occasions for others. It was an honor for her to start couple's lives together with her famous chicken and tips dinner for their wedding.
She is survived by seven children, Tina (Harold) Ward, Laura (James) Kirchberg, Ginger, Bill (Becky) Sotka, Cory (special friend, Heather) Sotka, Dana (Mike Litersky) Sotka and Darcy (John) Birchfield; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul McIntire; a brother-in-law, Gerald (Jean) Sotka; many nieces and nephews and special friends, Bob Schwartz, Carol Delaet, DeeDee Kostuch, Jan White, Diane (Mrs. B) Benning and especially, Marty Hayes.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Bill (William); her parents, Lorraine and Harold; a granddaughter; a close friend, Diane; in-laws, brothers; sisters-in-law; nieces and a nephew.
Visitation will be held at Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 14 from 4 p.m. until time of a Parish Sake Service at 7:30 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Crivitz on Friday, Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. Fr. Walter Stumpf will officiate with burial in Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Marinette.
