Joyce (Leonard) Harteau, 91, of Felch (Norway Lake), formerly of Menominee, Mi., passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.
Born June 12, 1926 in Gaylord, Mi., to the late Floyd and Fern (Damoth) Leonard, she attended school in Marinette and graduated from Marinette High School in 1944. She married Carl Harteau on Oct. 27, 1945 in Menominee and he preceded her in death on May 12, 2011.
She lived most of her life in Menominee and worked at Lauerman's Department Store in Marinette for many years. Upon his retirement, they moved to Felch to enjoy the area they loved since purchasing their cabin in 1954. They summered in Felch and wintered with a close community of family and friends in Apache Junction, Az. A member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Sagola for many years, she loved visiting and socializing with family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Cathy) Harteau of
Felch and James (Judith) Harteau of San Jose, Ca.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson due in April of 2018 and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carl, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Bob and Tom; a granddaughter, DeAnna; a brother, Roy Leonard; three sisters, Mary Warshall, Lillian Smith and Vivian Victor and an infant brother, Forrest Leonard.
Graveside services will be held at Felch Cemetery in the Spring of 2018. Erickson Rochon and Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain, Mi. is assisting the family with arrangements
