William R. Kohrt, 95, of Menominee. Mi., passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 at Bay Area Medical Center.
Born Dec. 29, 1922 in Menominee, to the late Otto and Frances (Ganter) Kohrt, he graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School. On Jan. 27, 1945 he married Marian Hudon in Marinette and they enjoyed 68 years of marriage until her passing Sept. 17, 2013.
He was a farmer and truck driver, retiring from Gateway Trucking. A member of Resurrection Catholic Church, he enjoyed watching his children show horses, attending music festivals, hunting, fishing, traveling, camping and watching high school football and baseball games.
He is survived by a daughter, Gaye (Jim) Vlies of Green Bay; five sons, Tom (Betty) Kohrt, Steve (Julie) Kohrt and Dave (Karen) Kohrt, all of Menominee, William (Chris) Kohrt of Freedom and Mike (Maxie) Kohrt of Front Royal, Va.; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marian.
Visitation will take place at Cadieu Thielen Funeral Home in Menominee on Wednesday, Jan. 10 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Vigil Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m., with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Resurrection Catholic Church in Menominee on Thursday, Jan. 11, with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding.
