THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Donald "Don" Lewis, 85, of Oconto, passed away early Sunday morning, Jan. 7, 2018 at an area Oconto Nursing Home.
Born May 3, 1932, in Whittier, Ca., to the late H. B. and Helen (Crawford) Lewis, he served in the United States Navy where he was trained in electronics.
After service, he joined the family business, Lewis Nursery in California, which was famous for their azaleas. He met Karin Conover while posting on each other's online bulletin boards and they married in December of 1991 in Irvin, Ca.
The lived in many states and locations, including on a sailboat for four years. They owned and managed many rental properties in Long Beach, Ca. and settled in Lena.
In the Green Bay area, they ran Ivory Bridge Productions, promoting classic rock and some jazz concerts. In retirement, they enjoyed sailing, fishing, and attending the theater and concerts.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Karin; a sister, Linda Martonik, Florence, Or.; a niece, Heather Martonik-Graff, Irvine, Ca. and a grand-niece, Tristan Martonik, Montpelier, Vt.
Per his wishes, a private Memorial Service was held. Simply Cremation assisted the family.
