Merle D. Bishop
Merle Dwayne Bishop, age 80 of Mount Pleasant, TX, passed away peacefully in Silver Cliff, WI February 3, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Clara Peacock; his parents; 6 sisters and 1 brother.
He is survived by his daughters from his first marriage, Riana Ventura (Oscar) of Silver Cliff, WI and Shondi Reynolds (Dan Bartlein) of Hayward, WI; a step-daughter, Alonda Holt and a step-son, Troy Peacock (Donna), both of Mount Pleasant; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was born in Eckert, Colorado to Chancey and Francis Bishop (nee Foiles) on December 7, 1937. He was self-employed in the roofing business and lived and worked all over the country.
He loved to travel and was an avid fisherman wherever he went. After retiring, Merle and Clara made their home in Mount Pleasant, TX and enjoyed fishing all he could on his favorite lakes.
After losing his beloved Clara in fall 2017, he made his final road trip to the white northwoods of Wisconsin to be with his daughters and their families.
His daughters would like to thank all his friends for taking such good care and watching out for Merle and Clara as they found their way around the last few years.
