Robert Jameel Abdullah Karim, Sr., 63 of Menominee, Mi., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018 in Marinette.
Born July 21, 1954 in Grand Rapids, Mi., to the late Lawrence and Lena (White) Smith, he worked as a supervisor for Johnson Controls for seven years.
He enjoyed golfing, traveling, grilling, cooking, riding his motorcycle and X-box gaming. He was excellent at roller skating and was an awesome dad and family man.
Survivors include his fiancée, Cynthia Zeratsky of Menominee; two sons, Robert (Cheryl) Karim II of Dorr, Mi. and Sammy Oliver of Caledonia, Mi; two daughters, Jeannica (Roger) Tibbs and Aesia Karim, both of Kentwood, Mi.; six grandchildren; two great-grandsons; six brothers, Larry, Paul, Raymond (Jaquline) and William Smith and Jesse and James White; five sisters, Margaret (Roland) Darby, Annie White, Beverly White, Dorothy (Anthony) Thompson and Tracey (Robert) Davis and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Ann White.
Family received friends at Bethel Lutheran Church in Menominee on Saturday, Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. until time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Scott Ehle officiating. Additional visitation was held on Monday, Feb. 26 at Life Center Church in Grand Rapids, Mi. from 9 a.m. until time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Marcus Rigsby officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grand Rapids. Anderson Kell Funeral Home of Menominee assisted the family with arrangements.
