Glenn L. Ahrndt, 86, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 at Aurora Baycare in Green Bay.
Born Dec. 19, 1931 in Birch Creek, Mi., to the late John and Anastasia (Dietz) Ahrndt, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked road construction in lower Michigan and at Armbrust Trucking for over 25 years. On July 30, 1994, he married Linda (Cloutier) Armstrong at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Menominee, where he was a member.
In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by three daughters, Loretta Counts and Lisa Cabrera, both of Missouri and Leona (Cliff) Mitchell of Copemish, Mi.; two step-children, Jennifer (Dennis) Konyn of Marinette and Ric Armstrong of Menasha; a brother, John "Jack" (Dee) of Comstock, Mi.; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and three special nephews, Nils Amundsen, Bruce Vogeltanz and Jeff Ahrndt.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brian; a grandson, James Haywood; four brothers, Ray Michaels, Frank Michaels, Charles Ahrndt and Leroy Ahrndt and six sisters, Sara, Catherine, Ruth, Laverne, Cedella and Lenora.
Visitation took place at Cadieu Thielen Funeral Home in Menominee on Monday Feb. 26 from 4 p.m. until time of a Vigil Prayer Service at 6 p.m., with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 11 a.m.
