John T. Tiemann, 87, of Athelstane, passed away Feb. 25, 2018.
Born to Henry and Regina Tiemann, of Kewaunee Ill., he served in the United States Airforce during the Korean War, was an American Legion member and belonged to the Operating Engineers Local 139.
He reveled in building his family home with one of his proudest moments, building the Alter at St. Mary's Church in the woods.
He enjoyed bird watching, growing flowers and collecting flower seeds, but mostly time with family was his greatest joy.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Betty A. Tiemann; two sons, Mark (Bonnie) and Scott (Amanda) Tiemann; two daughters, Kim Lewandowski and Julie Klaver (Chris Lavigne); 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Tiemann and two grandchildren, Lee and Nate.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Church in Crivitz on Friday, March 2 from noon until time of the Mass at 2 p.m. Fr. Frederick Sserugga will officiate followed by military rites. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Athelstane. Rhodes Charapata of Crivitz is assisting the family with arrangements.
