Elizabeth "Betty" Mary (Meulemans) Piso, 84, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018.
Born May 25, 1933 on the family farm in the Town of Lawrence, to Raymond Paul and Helen Florence (Gerrits) Meulemans, she lived there until marrying CPL Kenneth Piso (USMC) on Oct. 25, 1952 in San Diego, Ca. They then lived in Milwaukee until moving to the Piso family farm in Suring.
She worked at Woolworths and Zwicker Knitting Mills in Appleton and then at NuLine Industries in Suring for 25 years.
A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Suring and a life-long member of the Altar Society. She loved reading as did her father and going out to Red Lobster with her daughter Karen and grandson Jimmy. She enjoyed cards, bingo, flowers with her favorites of Lilacs and Lilly of the Valley and feeding the wild birds in winter, but her favorite season was spring.
She is survived by four children, Barbara Helen (Willie) Patz of Neenah, Steven James of Lena, Robert Kenneth (Christine) of Pulaski and Karen Ann (James) Callahan III of De Pere; a sister, Arlene (Meulemans) Hopfensperger/ Egan of Kaukauna; six granddaughters; a grandson; four great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Robert; her youngest sister, Mary Jane (Meulemans) Van Schyndel; her oldest granddaughter, Tammy Beth and a son-in-law, James Callahan III.
Family and friends may visit at St. Clare Parish, St. Paul Site in Wrightstown on Wednesday, March 7, from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 4 p.m. Rev. Brian Wideman will officiate with interment in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Wrightstown. Cotter Funeral Home of Wrightstown is assisting the family with arrangements.
