THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Run For Recovery Set for June 2nd
Issue Date: March 16, 2018
Planning is underway for the Netzel-Zenz American Post #413 in Crivitz, the Run for Recovery. Natasha Hanson, event coordinator and Vice Commander of the post, kicked off the planning with a series of meetings for the 5K Run/1 Mile Walk which will take place on Saturday, June 2. The run will start at Shaffer Pavilion in the community's Veteran's Park.
Purpose of the event remains the same; raise awareness of the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, commonly referred to as PTSD, on service members and their families, and to raise funds for organizations that provide PTSD treatment. The two groups that will receive the proceeds from the event are the Green Bay Vets Center and Healing Warrior Hearts. The latter organization provides programs for military personnel and their families, dedicated to healing the emotional, moral and spiritual wounds of war.
Hanson and her staff of volunteers recently mailed sponsor request letters to over 200 area businesses asking for their financial support. Although the letters were mailed out less than three weeks ago, the response has been encouraging. If your business received a sponsor letter but hasn't had time to respond, Hanson asks that you consider making a generous donation since nothing in this country is more important than our freedom, and nothing is more important to our freedom than the men and women who took the oath to protect it.
