Clarence Leonard Schaut, 82, of Town of Grover, passed away, Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Rennes Health Care Center-East.
Born July 31, 1935, the eldest child of the late Leonard and Edverdina (Behnke) Schaut, he served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957 with 16 months served in Korea.
He married the former June Behnke on Aug. 1, 1959 at St. John's Lutheran Church and worked at Bond Pickle Factory as a forklift driver until his retirement.
He enjoyed working on his hobby farm, hunting, fishing, polka dancing on Sundays at Equity Park, coffee clutching with the guys every morning and spending time with his little buddy, John.
He is survived by, his wife of 58 years, June; two sons, Dennis (fiancé Julie) Schaut and Jeff (Lisa) Schaut; a daughter, Renee (Randy) Vande Hei; grandchildren, Bryant (Ashley) Schaut, Lauren (fiancé, Dave) Schaut, Ashley Schaut, Bryan (special friend, Amanda) Schaut, John Schaut, Abby (special friend, Tim) Schaut, Kyle (Kristin) Vande Hei, Chelsea (special friend, Jesse) Vand Hei and Rachel (special friend, Kyle) Vande Hei; great-grandchildren, Aiden Schaut and Landon Vande Hei; two sisters, Darlene (Russ) Marquardt and Betty (Donald) Marquardt and a brother, Lenny (Bonita) Schaut.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald.
Visitation will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Grover on Saturday, March 17 from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Pastor Luke Myslik will officiate, followed by military rites. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo is assisting the family with arrangements.
