Dolores (Herson) Heikkinen, 88, of Ingalls, Mi., passed away Friday March 16, 2018 at River Breeze Adult Care Home in Wallace, Mi.
Born May 28, 1929 in Ingalls, Mi., to William and Mary Herson, she attended Ingalls Grade School and graduated from Stephenson High School in 1947. On July 14, 1956, she married Larry Heikkinen in Stephenson, Mi. and he preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1995.
After graduation she worked at the former Bank of Stephenson and later at the Stephenson Insurance Agency, retiring on Feb. 21, 2008 after completing her 60th year of continuous employment. She was a member of the Church of the Precious Blood in Stephenson.
She is survived by four brothers, Ronald Herson of Stephenson, Kenneth Herson and Douglas Herson of Ingalls and Jerry Herson of Wallace; nephews, Zach and Braeden Parrett and their parents, Ronnie and Shannon Parrett of Menominee; niece and nephew, Brooke and Tanner Tickler and their father, Bart Tickler of Wallace and long-time friends, Juanita Krause and Alice Anderson, both of Wallace.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Herson and a sister, Dorothy Tickler.
Family and friends called at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home in Stephenson on Tuesday, March 20 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Precious Blood at 5:30 p.m., with Fr. Ronald Timock officiating. A meal followed in the Church hall. Burial was in Stephenson Township Cemetery.
