Coleman Announces Badger Boys & Girls Selections
Issue Date: March 29, 2018
Coleman High School and the sponsoring American Legion and Legion Auxiliary are excited to be sending three female students from Coleman High School to the 2017 Badger Girls Program, and three male students from Coleman, as well as one male student from Peshtigo, to the Badger Boys State Program.
This year marks the 73rd session for the girls program and 77th session for Badger Boys. The Badger Programs are designed to train young women and men in the science and operation of our government while developing quality leadership skills. Student candidates were selected based upon qualities such as leadership, academic achievement, dedication to personal growth, and civic responsibility.
Doug Polomis, Coleman High School Principal and Superintendent, feels that the Badger Girls and Boys programs are excellent opportunities for learning and leadership for our students.
"Coleman High School is honored to partner with local Legion post to support our 2018 Badger Boy representatives, and are also proud to see sponsorship of the Badger Girls program from the Legion Auxiliary, Peshtigo National Bank, the Coleman Pound Lioness Club, Charapata Funeral, and Dr. Jeff Gasser. This program will allow the young leaders to learn more about the state government and the leadership that is required to build a community. This hands-on approach to government will provide a valuable extension to their educational experience at the school and neighboring communities."
