Debra Jean (Holmes) Schindler, 67, of Mountain, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at home after a battle with cancer.
Born May 26, 1950 in Oconto, to the late Henry and Ester (DeHart) Holmes, she lived in Mountain most of her life and married John R. Schindler there on July 2, 1977.
Known for "Deb's Wreaths", she also worked in the restaurant business, until retiring after her husband's passing in 2003. She met her second love, Darrell, shortly after and they enjoyed time with family and friends, traveling and visiting places from Alaska to the Panama Canal.
She enjoyed gardening, playing horseshoes and fishing, catching bigger fish than the guys and was the Small Mouth Bass Queen.
She is survived by her partner, Darrell Huff and Mr. Magoo; seven children, Jody Walske, Cathy Maki, Shannon (John) Granados, Thomas Huff, John R. Schindler Jr., Stephanie Grant and Nicole Grant; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene and Dianne (Dave); a brother, Timothy; Darrell's siblings and many others.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John and a sister, Sharon Holmes.
Visitation was held Swedberg Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel on Friday, May 18 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation continued at the funeral home on Saturday, May 19 from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 10 a.m., with Rev. Paul Scheunemann officiating. Memorials can be made to the family for a charity of one's choice.
