Trustee Ray Gordan is Wausaukee Parade Marshal

Wausaukee-Wausaukee Parade grand marshal is Ray Gordon, a Village Trustee. The 4th of July parade is Saturday, July 7 at 1 pm.
Gordon was born in Goodman on Aug. 7, 1942 and graduated from Goodman High School in 1960. He went on to school in Green Bay and Milwaukee for a year studying mechanical drafting. He worked at Allis Chalmers as a mechanical draftsman for four years, then moved to Green Bay and worked for Northwest Engineering as a mechanical draftsman and research development in hydraulics for over four years.
In 1972 he moved back to Goodman to work in the woods for himself. In 1979 he married Sandra Berdener on Aug. 11, 1979. They had two children, a son, Corey of Fox Crossing and daughter, Hailey of Greenleaf, along with two grandsons, Bowen, Corey's and Oaken Douglas, Hailey's. They moved to Wausaukee in August of 1995.
Gordon was elected to the Wausaukee Village Board in 2001 and held the office of President in 2003 for two years. In 2015 he was reelected as Trustee until present.
He said he enjoys working with wood making custom signs and now jewelry boxes. Since 1975 he has been making maple syrup in the Goodman area. Ray and his son, Corey deer hunt and spend time on their land in Fence.
The day kicks off with the Firecracker 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, July 7 with registration at 7 -7:45 am. Race will start at 8 am. The parade starts at 1 pm. Anyone who wants to be in the parade can call Ron Rost at 715-927-1755 or just line up. Line up will be on Kenny Drive and Vickie Drive by the Exxon. Led by the Amberg and Wausaukee Legions, the parade will go down Main St./US 141 and turn at North Ave into Wausaukee Park.
Festivities will follow at Steve Stumbris Sr. Memorial Park at 132 Fairgrounds Rd. There will be food, refreshments, candy, bouncy houses and music at 2:30-6:30 pm with Fossil from 7-11 p.m. Daze 2 Nights. Areas best fireworks display will be around dusk at the park.
There will be games throughout the day with Kick Ball Tourney between Wausaukee Fire Department and Crivitz Fire Department. Any Fire Department that wants to play may call 715-927-0705 or just show up. There will be Bag Toss Tourneys for the children at 3 pm and adults at 5pm.
