Dear Editor:
As many of us know, President Trump has been campaigning for a second term though he is not halfway through his current term. He has been flying on taxpayer supplied Air Force One to campaign rallies all over the nation, including the one in Duluth where, according to an eyewitness account in the Duluth News Tribune, his campaign issued more tickets than seats available so they would have a packed house. Trump's rallies feature him using a rhetorical device where he makes a statement to the crowd of supporters, and they answer him with an encouraged response. One of his popular devices is to say that he is building a wall and Mexico is paying for it. In case any of us go to a future Trump rally, it may be useful to study the following script based on reality.
Trump to nation: I am building a wall!
Campaign Participants/Nation: And we will pay for it!
Trump: I imposed tariffs and started an international trade war!
Nation: And we will pay for it!
Trump: I separated immigrant families from their children!
Nation: And we will pay for it!
Trump: I will break ties with Canada, England, Australia, France, and all of our World War II Allies!
Nation: And we will pay for it!
Trump: I am special friends with Kim Jong Un from North Korea and Russia's Putin!
Nation: And we will pay for it!
Trump: I am rolling back environmental protections and denying climate change!
Nation: And we will pay for it!
Trump: I am eliminating health care for millions of citizens!
Nation: And we will pay for it!
Trump: I am having a huge military parade in Washington for no reason this fall!
Nation: And we will pay for it!
Trump: Stick with me and all will be fabulous, more amazing than you can imagine!
Nation: And we will pay for it!!!
The Trump rally you may attend will likely be a lot more fun that reality. Don't forget to vote!

Fred Popp is a candidate for Marinette County Sheriff. He has served his post as a deputy for nearly two decades, honorably, diligently and respectfully.
While he may lack name recognition, Fred would serve the citizens of the county with the same integrity he has always shown to us. He is a true public servant.
Give him the opportunity to lead our county law enforcement in a more favorable light.
