Dolores G. (Merklein) Goergen 89 of Marinette, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at her home.
Born to the late Earl and "Minnie" (Ott) Merklein, Sr. in Sheboygan, she attended school there and later married George Goergen in 1968. They moved to Marinette and ran the HumDinger Restaurant until 1975. She also was a co-owner of Hall Ave Radiator LTD and ran the U-Haul Station.
A member of Holy Family Parish, she participated in the Koinonia retreats and enjoyed being a part of the Eucharistic Ministers and the treasury group.
As a member of St. Anthony, she volunteered at Pauls Pantry and at Bingo. Outside of church, she volunteered for FISH, St. Vincent de Paul, Knights of Columbus (widowers group), bingo and much more.
In addition to being an avid Packers, Brewers and Badgers fan, she enjoyed being a Brownie Leader, crafting, Square and Polka dancing, collecting angel figurines and traveling, especially her trip to Israel with the dinner theatre and sightseeing bus tours.
She is survived by three sons, Gerald (Jean) Konz, Philip (SoYoung) Konz and Kevin (Paula Vega) Konz; three daughters, Michele (Tom Gieger) Bronsky, Diana (Michael Blazek) Konz and Monica (Scott) Heitman; a sister-in-law, Maryann Merklein; 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George; a daughter, (Renelle); four sons, David, Kenneth, Jeffrey and Rory; a brother, Earl; a grandson, Kenneth Konz III and a granddaughter, Wendy Konz.
Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home in Marinette on Friday July 27 from 4 p.m. until time of the Vigil Services at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Marinette on Saturday July 28 at 10 a.m. Burial will be later at Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette.
