Harold Drees, Jr., 68, of Thorntown, Ind., passed away Feb. 20, 2018.
Born June 3, 1948 in Peshtigo, to the late Harold and Ethel Drees, he grew up on the family farm in Grover and graduated from Peshtigo High School. He then attended UW-Marinette and UW-Green Bay.
He lived in Thorntown, Ind. for the past 20 years where he was active in the cattle business before entering the automobile business. He owned and operated Friendly Hometown Motors in Lebanon with his son, Josh.
He enjoyed riding horses, harness racing, bull riding, collecting antique clocks and cars and loved soccer.
A member of the Methodist Church in Thorntown, he also belonged to the American Legion, Ulen Country Club and Indiana Independent Dealer Association, serving on their board of directors for 13 years.
Survivors include his wife, Helena Drees of Thorntown; three sons, Harold Joshua Dress III of Lebanon, Justin Zeitler Drees of Sweden and Andrew Nelson Drees of Wausau; two grandsons, both of Sweden; sisters, Jean Drees Wyss, Tucson, Az., Clarice Drees Moore, Temecula, Ca. and Mary Lou Drees Richter and Lois Drees Anderson, both of Peshtigo.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Drees Laudeman.
Visitation will be held at Peshtigo United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 28 from noon until time of a Celebration of Life at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Peshtigo Riverside Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Peshtigo United Methodist Church.
