Viola Emily Fedler, 103, of Gillett, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 with family at her side, just shy of her 104th birthday.
Born July 29, 1914 in the Town of Maple Valley, to the late Leo and Olga (Fischer) Neuman, she attended area schools and married Raymond G. Fedler on Sept. 29, 1934. They raised two sons and farmed for over 30 years in the Town of Gillett. She also worked at Mirro Aluminum.
A longtime, faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Gillett, she loved gardening and canning, took good care of those who needed help and was involved with the Valley Line Homemakers.
She is survived by two sons, Len (Sue) Fedler of Gillett and Ron (Jan) Fedler of Dodgeville; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Inluding her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; two brothers, Hugo (Elsie) and Rudy (Martha) Neuman; a sister, Leone Belke, and a grandson, Rusty Fedler.
Visitation was held at Faith United Lutheran Church on Friday, July 27 from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. A graveside service followed at 12:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Oconto Falls. Legacy Funeral Chapel of Gillett assisted the family with arrangements.
