Marsha (Galbraith) Vara, 67, of Powers, Mi., passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers, Mi.
Born May 23, 1951 in Iron Mountain, Mi., to Margaret (Lebond) and the late Gordy Galbraith, she graduated from Stephenson High School in 1969 and earned a teaching degree from NMU. After graduation, she taught and was a Librarian in Gwinn, Mi., until retiring.
On March 15, 1974, she married Carmine Vara and he preceded her in death on July 1, 2013.
She enjoyed playing cribbage, being with her family, grandchildren, cats and dogs and watching the Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers.
She is survived by her mother, Margaret Galbraith of Stephenson, Mi., two sisters, Nancy (Randy) Johnson and LeAnn (Mike) Shampo; two brothers, John and Jim (Patti) Galbraith; two step-children, Carmine (Terry) Vara and Paully Vara; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her father Gordy, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carmine.
Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 3 at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home of Stephenson from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. Pastor Scott Ehle officiated, followed by burial in Bethesda Cemetery in Daggett.
