Issue Date: August 9, 2018
Linda Jane Tessmer, 75, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Saturday, Aug. 4 after a month long battle with a mystery illness, with her children by her side at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee.
Born June 14, 1943, to the late Jack and Ethel Bell, she grew up in Chicago, Ill., where she met Donald Tessmer, Sr. They married on June 24, 1967 in Illinois and he preceded her in death in 2014.
They moved to the U.P. in 1978 and settled in the Stephenson area where they raised their six children. In 2003 they moved to Menominee where they lived the rest of their years.
She worked at factory jobs, but her greatest job of all was being a Mom and Grandma.
She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, baking, crocheting, reading a good book and watching her shows. Her greatest past time was time laughing, talking and being with her children and grandchildren, never passing on a chance to cook for any of them.
She is survived by six children, Scott (Linda Berg), Marinette, Donald Jr. (Pamela), Heather Adams (Cory Sotka), Kimberly (Gary) Rachels (her favorite) and Eric (Melissa), all of Menominee and Jeffrey (Jenni) of Gladstone; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Per her wishes, no services will be held. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
