Martin "Punk" Techmeier, died peacefully at the Luther Home on Sunday, July 29, 2018 in Marinette, Wisconsin at the age of 92.
He was born Martin William Techmeier on December 3, 1929 in Grover, Wisconsin to August Techmeier and Augusta (Schwittay) Techmeier. He married the love of his life, Barbara Walters on April 29, 1950.
During the earlier years of their marriage, they built a house in the Town of Lake where they celebrated the births of their children. In 1970, they purchased their long-time family home on North Emery Avenue in Peshtigo, Wisconsin.
As a young man, Martin made a living as a fur trapper. He later began working for the Thompson Boat Company as a skilled tradesman building both wooden and fiberglass boats and then for the Marinette Marine Corporation as a shipbuilder. After many years of building ships for the Navy, Martin retired from MMC.
Martins children will remember him as a dedicated and hardworking father who encouraged them to pursue their goals. The two things Martin loved in life next to his family were hunting and fishing.
Martin is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara; their children, Judy, Mike and Jenifer; grandchildren, Matthew, Patrick and Christopher and great-grandchildren, Paige and Braydon.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jamie and siblings, Louis, Harold, Arlene, LaVerne, Mabel and August.
There will be no funeral or reception. Martins ashes will be interred at the Forest Home Mausoleum in Marinette, Wisconsin. A plaque in his honor will be displayed at the Peshtigo Riverview Platform upon its completion The family would like to extend special thanks to Debbie T. and Dave Z. for their love and support.
