Marvin R. Rusch, 78, of Stiles, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 28, 2018 after a courageous battle with a variety of ailments.
He was born on May 10, 1940 in Milwaukee, to Walter and Olga (Patzer) Rusch. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School and was confirmed in 1954. He attended Milwaukee Lutheran High and Custer High, graduating in 1958.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before starting his steamfitter's apprenticeship in 1961. He later became a Journeyman and excelled at specialized welding.
On Jan. 19, 1963 he married Carol Ann (Blake) in Milwaukee. The couple moved to Stiles in 1969, where together they raised three children, Steven (Suzanne) Rusch, Marcy (Scott) Wolfe, and Michael (Rhonda) Rusch. Marvin enjoyed a second marriage on April 23, 1988 to Carol (Heiden) (Burdey).
He is survived by her children, Thomas (Trish) Burdey, Monte (Joye) Marek, Steven (Kristin) Burdey, and Tammy (Stephen) Loveless. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first and second wives.
Marvin retired in 1995. He continued to be an active member in his church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, going to the races, auctions, as well as visiting with his children and grandchildren.
A casual visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11, starting at 9 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Churcn, 1700 Superior Ave., Oconto. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Curtis DeCoste officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Spruce.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery Fund (Lena) or Zion Lutheran " LWML (Oconto).
