David Grant McDowell, "Mac", age 58, of Crivitz, passed away on July 31, 2018 with his wife by his side. He was born to Neil and Ruth (Enders) McDowell on Aug. 8, 1959 in Milwaukee.
He graduated from Crivitz High School in 1977. After high school he enlisted in the army where he was stationed in Germany and honorably discharged in 1980 as an E4. He then pursued a career at Waupaca Foundry for 38 years in the maintenance department and retired in March 2018. He married the love of his life, Cara Motz on June 23, 2012 in West Bend. He was an avid golfer at the local courses and had a passion for nature photography; to include published works. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to Door County and his annual fishing trips with his lifelong friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cara; son, Stephen of Chicago; mother, Ruth McDowell of Crivitz; 5 sisters, Kim (Ed) Topol of Lombard, IL, Tammy Sotka of Green Bay, Jodi (Tim) Matelski of Neenah, Kelly Ducaine of Pound, Christina Baenen of Pound, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Neil; brother, Keith "Kicker" McDowell; and brother-in-law, Christopher Baenen.
The family greeted relatives and friends at the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Marinette, W1498 HWY 64 Marinette, on Aug. 8 from 9-11 am. The service was at 11 am with Pastor Tim Hawthorne officiating with Military rites following.
