
Nathaniel LaPlantIssue Date: August 9, 2018 Nathaniel "Nat" LaPlant, 15, Oconto, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018 at home with family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Nat was born June 27, 2003 in Green Bay to Scott and Jennifer (VanNorman) LaPlant.
He had a great interest in all things cars, especially getting rides in Ford Mustang convertibles. When going for rides, he would ask to wait for the train to go by. The train horn will always be a remembrance of Nat. He also enjoyed street signs and had his room re-decorated in a street sign theme. Along with the street signs, he also had an aquarium with glow in the dark fish that he and his cat, Lily, enjoyed watching. Nat had an ability to recall dates and if given a birth date, he could tell you the day of the week you were born. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Oconto, and would have been a freshman at Oconto High School. Nat had two very special friends in Bobbi Jo and Myah Mlnarik.
Survivors include his parents, Scott and Jennifer LaPlant, Oconto; sister, Trinity LaPlant, Oconto; maternal grandparent, Melva VanNorman; paternal grandparents, Marilyn LaPlant, Mark (Kathy) LaPlant; great grandparents, George Krueger, Richard Schott.
He was preceded in death by grandparent, Robert VanNorman; great grandparents, Joseph and Rose Mary LaPlant, Bernadine Schott, Ruth Krueger, Allan and Verene VanNorman and Steve and Doris Shallow.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 8 PM Friday, Aug. 10, 2018. Visitation will continue on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018 from 10 to 11 AM at First Presbyterian Church, Oconto. Memorial services will be conducted 11 AM Saturday at the church with the Rev.
