Eleanor Charlotte (Lemieux) L. Lavalley, 95, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018 at the Harbors.
Born Dec. 20, 1922 in Menominee, to the late George and Isabelle (Allgeyer) Lemieux, she married Samuel J. LaValley on Aug. 14, 1948 at Epiphany Catholic Church and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1998. He preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 2002.
She worked at Marinette Medical Clinic for over 17 years and enjoyed gardening, golfing, sewing, playing bridge, was a great cook and loved spending time and traveling with her family.
She grew up in Epiphany Catholic Church where she sang in the choir at age 16 and was an active member of Resurrection Catholic Church.
Survivors include four children, Mary (Bob) Lozier of Menominee, Jeanne (Dr. James) Hosler of Arlington, Tx., Dr. Sam (Judy) LaValley of Menominee and Bill (Peggy) LaValley of Saginaw, Tx.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Wendt and a brother, George Lemieux.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Friday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m., with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. Family will greet friends and relatives at a lunch after Mass. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee. Anderson Kell Funeral Home in Menominee is assisting the family with arrangements. A memorial fund has been established and donations can be directed to the Menominee Animal Shelter or Spies Public Library.
